NPDES Pipe & Facility Locations are point shapefiles that contains National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Program Facility & Pipe locations in Allen County, Indiana. This data was provided by personnel of the Indiana Department of Environmental Management & the Office of Water Quality (IDEM, OWQ) as of December 12, 2002. The data set provided by IDEM was in an ESRI shapefile format and was named "A-NPDES-FACILITY."
NPDES Pipe & Facility Locations are attributed with facility identifications, federal identification numbers, and addresses. Facility information and locational coordinates were provided by the Environnmental Protection Agency (EPA) Envirofacts database website location: http://www.epa.gov/enviro/html/pcs/adhoc.html Website URL obtained by personal of the Office of Water Quality, Indiana Department of Environmental Management.
NOTE: IGS personnel modified the original shapefile obtained from IDEM by eliminating 3234 records that were appended by IDEM personnel to A-NPDES-FACILITY.DBF but which did not have associated UTM values.
The following is excerpted from the metadata provided by IDEM, OWQ for the source shapefile A-NPDES-FACILITY:
"This database is extracted from the national EPA Permit Compliance System (PCS) database and includes all available records listed in Indiana associated with 'Active' surface water discharges. It consists of state permitted wastewater facility related information. The files are point locations and are projected intoa a UTM NAD83 zone 16 North coordinate system. Facility name, contacts, and a variety of mailing addresses are included for each permit along with locational data as available. Additionally, records for Stormwater general permits issued under 327 IAC 5-4-6, stormwater associated with industrial activities, have been appended into the tables." |
